To All Members Of The Fall River Contributory Retirement System

An election is to be held at the Fall River Retirement Board office located at 30 Third Street, Suite 301, Fall River, MA 02720 on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. for the purpose of electing a member of the System to serve on the Fall River Retirement Board for a term of three (3) years. Said term will commence on January 1, 2012 and end December 31, 2014.

All holding membership in the Fall River Contributory Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Fall River Retirement Board a nomination paper containing the signatures and addresses of at least twenty (20) members of the System. The nomination papers must be filed on or before 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 2, 2011.

NOMINATION PAPERS: Nomination papers will be available beginning July 22, 2011 and must be obtained at the office of the Fall River Retirement Board, 30 Third Street, Suite 301, Fall River, MA 02720.

ABSENTEE BALLOT: Requests for absentee ballots by non-retired members shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Fall River Retirement Board’s designated Election Officer no later than the day before the election. A vote by absentee ballot is permitted for the following reasons only:
1. Member will be absent from the City of Fall River during the election hours on October 21, 2011;
2. Member is unable to cast his/her vote on the day of the election for reasons of religious belief; or
3. Member is unable to vote in person due to a temporary physical disability.
